Advocacy and Organizing

Our organization is rooted in the voices and experiences of the most marginalized members of society. As such, we take seriously the intersectional nature of organizing work that is made necessary by the inextricable systems of power that run this country. We are committed to working and thinking alongside community members and partners. At TaskForce, we believe in the work of radical praxes, which is the culmination of theory and practice that seeks to address the root causes of social ills and inequities.

About the Advocacy & Organizing Program

At TaskForce, we believe that lasting change is harnessed through collective action and we challenge ourselves to imagine beyond the now and always ask “what’s next?”.

In addition to providing social, health, and wellness services to our community, we also actively engage and organize our stakeholders — including volunteers, community partners, and local representatives to advocate for policies that promote the dignity of our community members. At TaskForce, we believe that lasting change is harnessed through collective action and we challenge ourselves to imagine beyond the now and always ask “what’s next?”. We seek to inspire and support action that leads to the creation of new worlds where all individuals have the freedom to live as their full selves and free from unnecessary suffering.

We hope to create spaces that cultivate a culture of progress when it comes to social, political, economic, and environmental issues. As a grassroots organization, we know that large institutions do not keep us safe and that we must, instead, utilize the resources, knowledge, and power of our communities to build stronger futures.

It is for this reason that we critically engage with organizing and advocacy work, in that we seek to transcend what the world continuously tries to tell us we cannot do. A world in which all people are free is possible, and TaskForce is committed to the collective work it will take to arrive there.

Does TaskForce work with other organizations?

Yes. We strongly value our intentional community partnerships and collaborations. We know that there is strength in numbers and are always eager to be in the company of others who share similar values. We work with other organizations in many different capacities and are always open to working with new organizations!
